Digital dads love bacon too
Posted in sponsors on 04/30/2010 03:46 pm by KarenOur latest sponsor is Digital Dads. They write interesting tidbits about their daily lives as parents. Check out their post on family friendly ipad apps. I have a lot of cousins and they love playing with my ipad. Now I have a few more apps to share with them.
These dads also are fond of bacon and sausage.
Thanks Digital Dads!
Stickers! and more prizes
Posted in Uncategorized on 04/27/2010 06:06 pm by KarenThe stickers came in yesterday. They look fantastic. One of the organizers last year put one of these stickers on his bag and it’s still on there in great condition. These stickers from Stickergiant are built to last.
I also received this cute bag. I love dinosaurs. This bag will be one of the prizes we give away. If you want to buy your own, they are hand made and sold on etsy

I keep posting all these fun prizes, but our presenter’s list isn’t growing. Last year’s Bacone winner was filmed for “What would Brian Boitano Make? (watch it here. Click on “Make bacon with Brian”) Don’t you like the prizes? Fame and glory? Bragging rights?
Get your creative bacon juices flowing and sign up to present!
You can also just leave a comment here with your name and presentation and I’ll add you to the list.
More prizes are rolling every day
Posted in Uncategorized on 04/23/2010 10:44 pm by KarenI am dying to play the bacon adventure game. If you want a chance to win a prize, be sure to sign up to present your bacon treats.
Sponsor love: Stickergiant
Posted in logistics on 04/22/2010 07:35 pm by KarenStickergiant, a top-notch service I was gladly willing to pay for, is now our latest sponsor. We purchased BaconCamps stickers from them last year and their customer service and quality were fabulous. There was a slight problem with the stickers (ultimately our fault) and they gladly reprinted our stickers and mailed them out within a day.
They are incredibly responsive and helpful and their turnaround time is superfast. I wouldn’t go with anyone else for custom stickers. I’ll post some photos of the stickers as soon as they come in.
Thanks, Stickergiant!
BC + SFFB
Posted in Uncategorized on 04/20/2010 06:15 am by KarenI got the official word today that bacon camp will be benefiting the San Francisco food bank. Since our event will undoubtedly involve overindulgence of delicious foods, it’s good to remind ourselves that there are many who are far less fortunate. The SFFB provide food to over 23,500 households each week, delivering 39 million pounds of food a year. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank will distribute $6 worth of food to those in need.
They are a fantastic organization and I am super excited that we can help them help others.
Baconcamp is spotlighted on kickstarter
Posted in Press on 04/12/2010 07:20 am by KarenHow exciting! Things are coming together well and we are more than halfway to our funding goal. Keep spreading the word and start prepping your recipes.
I really like kickstarter. They give the opportunity for individuals and small groups to realize their dreams. The two projects I’m currently backing are Little city gardens (an organic farm in the mission) and a live cooking burlesque show about meat.
There are some pretty cool projects on the site (especially that one that’s being featured right now about bacon
) so definitely take a look around.
Give BaconCamp a good starting kick
Posted in logistics on 04/05/2010 05:40 pm by KarenBaconCamp is now up on Kickstarter. We are looking to the community to help fund this project. Just like last year, proceeds of the event go to a local nonprofit that is-as-yet-unnamed-until-it-is-official. If you donate $15 or more on Kickstarter, you are effectively buying your ticket for BaconCamp. There are other thank you gifts too that might capture your fancy. Start thinking about what you want to cook. This ball is rolling!
